In this research project a set of knowledge intensive technology solutions has been defined, based on biomechanics functional assessment, aimed at providing criteria, rigor and objectivity to the process of evaluation of occupational medicine, rehabilitation of injured workers and management of health resources related to the temporary and permanent disability of musculoskeletal origin. With this objective, a body of base knowledge has been created in the field of functional and biomechanical characterization of musculoskeletal disorders more prevalent in the Spanish working population. In addition, a complete transfer model has been also defined, taking into account the creation of the organizational structures and technical and human resources to ensure their incorporation and use by institutions and professionals of occupational medicine. Furthermore, specific tools and instruments to ensure sustainability, operation and efficiency of the proposed solutions have been proposed; especially in the fields of mutual work accidents and occupational diseases of the Social Security and private companies focused on valuation and medical expertise of body pain. Finally, to analyse the usefulness in a real working environment of the technological solution proposed, a detailed analysis of the achieved implementation at national level and the degree of practical use made by professional users have been performed.
