Abstract The primary objective of this investigation is to study the Biblioteca del Bosque, work by the spanish artist Miguel çngel Blanco, created between 1985 and 2010. Between this period, the work made a total of one thousand one hundred and one book-box (the book-box is the basic element of the work, and each one of this book-box is unique) constituting an exceptional poem that shows the feelings and sorrows of the artist, treasures not only fragments of the forest where it was originated -in the Sierra del Guadarrama-, but also various systems of nature. Dreams and experiences of the stroll of the author in several continents are kept here. It is a ballad that allows us to realize a prodigious lecture of nature through the senses; not only in a visual way, but also through the touch, the sound, and the smell. The specific objectives of this investigation are to present the cataloguing of the Biblioteca del Bosque, analyze the work in a formal and thematical way through developed poetics, interpret their sense and recognize the techniques and resources used in the creation of the work. From a visual arts perspective the Biblioteca del Bosque gathers several techniques - drawing, painting, graphics, collage, photography, to name a few- that the artist incorporates through time. All these techniques nourrish the work, which main theme is nature. The research has a structure composed by five chapters, a section of conclusions, one bibliography section and one on documental annexes. "Sobre el autor y su obra" gathers a selection of information of the artist and the whole ensemble of his work. "Naturaleza y arte contempor‡neo" has the finality contextualizing the Biblioteca del Bosque, that's why it is focused on some of the artistic movements and artists, in an international and national level, that have worked in and with the canvas of nature, from the nineteen-sixties to our time. Because the book-box is the key element in the work of this research, "Los libros y el arte. Una simbiosis creativa" has descriptions, reflections and contributions of some books of great importance, showing the value and the convenience of the book-box in the Biblioteca del Bosque. In "La Biblioteca del Bosque" the work is described, its origins, the methods that the artist uses during the creation, the content and techniques that he applies through time. An analysis of it was performed. The "Cat‡logo de la Biblioteca del Bosque" is formed by a table that gathers the specifications of each of the book-box and a CD that contains a photograph on each of all of the book-boxes. Miguel çngel Blanco, which began his artistic activity when he moved to live to the Sierra del Guadarrama, away from academic influence and more closer to the forest, is a contemporany artist that has assumed an attitude of commitement and protection towards nature. There is a coherence between the actions he has taken and his work, being this last the expression of the elapse between nature and his life. Since the Biblioteca del Bosque is created through elements of nature, it is expressed through an universal language. Each book, through its pages and its box, is gifted with the ability to suggest and provoke poetic interpretations. At the same time, it's a work for the memory, it preserves and reflects ephemeral and concrete situations that appear in nature. Likewise, it is a means to reach to knowledge, as well as an aesthetic register.
