Summary Continental water pollution by heavy metal ions is one of the most common problems actually fond in the environment. Some examples can be shown to stand out natural disasters derived from human slightly responsible actions, such as those happened in the basin of Guadiamar River and Doņana's National Park (Seville) provoked by poured wastes from Boliden Company, or also mining pollution in Rio Tinto (Huelva). The historical need of industrial wastes vaporization must also be consiered. Industrial wastes have tradiotionally been rejected without considering their reutilization. Water polluted by heavy metals iones can be found among those wastes and even residual heat flows from anyindustrial process can be found too. Residual heat flows can be used as a heat sorurce as well as water polluted by heavy metals ions, that has traditionally generated problems becuse of its rejection, can be used as row materials in some industrial processes. Thus, the environmental is freed from one of itsmain pollutants and the companies save the treatment costs. The use of residualheat flows as a heat source to water decontamination can be considered as a potentially feasible option for their valorization, specially if they come from boilers or any other industrial thermal process. The utilization of residual heat flows is not only a new dimension in industrial economic save possibilities but also an important improvement in the environmental problems solutions derived from the rejection of metal ions poluted water into the envirenment. Finally, an investigation line appears, that triers to achieve the decntmination of this kind of water with reasonable costs by means of technically feasible procedures, using evaporative technologies to get the best advantages for the natural environment.
