Nowadays, in the city of Valencia there are conserved some caissoned ceilings of the 15th century among which we emphasize the one located (built for la Casa de la Ciudad and then moved to its current location) in the Consulado room of the building of La Lonja de los Mercaderes of Valencia, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and known with the name Sala Nueva or Sala Dorada because of its painting decoration and gilded.

This study work is focused on carrying out the historical-technical and conservative process for the caissoned ceiling, with pertinent technical studies, as much of the armour as of the painting decoration.

The final aim is to obtain all the necessary data so that the citizen can know how La Lonja was from its origins and collect all the data that allow to consolidate and to improve the current state of the Sala Dorada within the building.

With the demolition of the ancient Casa de la Ciudad, in 1860, the caissoned ceiling was taken to pieces and it was placed in different places. Until 1917, when it was moved to the Consulado del Mar room, where it is without public access at the present time.


Objectives.

1. To study in depth the caissoned ceiling history from its construction to the present time.

2. To know technical aspects of the caissoned ceiling and the room where it is located.

3. To set which have been the main factors of alteration.

4. To define the physical, legal and the conservation parameters more adapted to the historical set.

5. The final aim of this study will be established the proposal of intervention for the restoration of the work
