ABSTRACT

The terms patrimonial heritage and industrial arqueology are analyze in the first place, along with the way these subjects  are treated in their own  legislation.

In second place we analyze what, nowadays, it is understood by recovery and reutilization of the industrial heritage in Spain as well as internationally, and we study finished projects of recovery and reutilization of industrial buildings. Then we present and depict the tools needed for the analysis and the assessment of the industrial heritage.

By using all these elements presented previously we create, through the assessment of several factors, a method to study the industrial heritage with which we try to establish if it is convenient the recovery and reutilization of industrial buildings and if so  the best way to do it using the forenamed tools.

Finally we apply this method to  a set of industrial landmarks placed in the Grao of Valencia reaching the appropriate conclusions about the system and methodology created.
