Presence of death in the Mexican graphic Assuming this research has started from the idea that death is presented in a universal way, being the only common destiny of all people. While the death has been studied from various aspects, its inclusion implicit and explicit through the engraved image of objects and prints is the main purpose of this work. The Death therefore represents a response to the imaginary, symbolic where can be reviewed in the context of fine arts proceeding to review its presence in the Mexican recorded starting, of three Major aspects. A - From the XVI century through religious images protective of disease and death. B- Also used as a commercial aspect by publishers and popular records like Manilla and Posadas from the second half of the XIX century. C- The signification in the politic, social and festive, the theme of death in the graphic works of the twentieth century. Those aspects isolated or integrated to let studying the images not only as an aspect of the absence of life, but also as a history of mentalities. The overall aim has been built up from four sections that correspond to historic times and differing perceptions of death and is interrelated: the pre-Hispanic, the colonial, the emerged from the independence, the modern and contemporary. These issues are addressed in a manner specified through subchapter with graphic images that illustrate and reinforce the text, indicated at the end their respective source.
