Aldicarb is a pesticide used in the cultivation of citrus fruits. Its effect has been studied with the aim of the action on certain pests, the impact on beneficial insects, the influence on vegetative growth and harvest, and the absorption and evolution of its metabolites in soil, leaves and fruits. We have observed that aldicarb adequately control the following pests: aleiródidos, aphids, the pseudoócido Planococcus citri Risso and red mite Panonychus citri MacGregor. At the same time, reduce the population and damage miner citrus nematode and the red spider Tetranychus urticae Kock. Has little influence on diaspinas cochineal. Respect to natural enemies of pests, there is little impact. We found that the maximum abundance of these occur in the spring months, although in some cases, we found maximum population throughout the year. Quantitative effects have been observed in budding and harvest. However, there appears to have been related to the mineral content of the leaves. With the use of aldicarb at doses of 20 g ai / tree, with two years applications can overcome LMRs in Spain (0.2 mm / kg), however, with an application, the resuduos found in fruit, or ebajo, or the detection limit.
