The main goals of this research work are: • To identify the importance of industry in the “Exposición Regional Valenciana”, celebrated in 1909. • To analyse the impact of the “Exposición Regional” on the Valencian industry development. This work could be classified into a major scientific field: the research on the economic development of the Valencian districts at the end of XIX and the beginning of XXth centuries. This work is focused in the industrial sectors which were exhibited in the “Exposición Regional”: silk, textile, wood and furniture, chemical and tannery, tiles, machinery and electrification. To achieve the objectives, the evolution of these industrial sectors have been studied. The “Exposición Regional” was an important milestone in Valencian History. It could be observed as a reflection of the economic, social and political characteristics of the Valencian society in 1909. . Other authors have studied different aspects of “Exposición Regional”: architecture, symbolism, political interpretations, but nobody has studied the specific contents of the exhibitions and the exhibitions approach. The main result of our work is the creation of a big data base with the information of the whole collection of industrial products and machinery showed in the “Exposición Regional”. The main conclusions of the work are: • The Valencian industry played a main role in the “Exposición Regional”. Its presence and participation was very important. But it isn’t well known by Valencian society due to the false image of their land (the paradigm of “Non-industralization”). • The “Exposición Regional” impacts the Valencian industry, but it’s extremely difficult to measure this impact. The beginning of the First War in 1914 changed radically the perspectives and development of Valencian companies.
