Landscape Painting in Al-Boeira Series
This thesis came from the need to analyse and theorize a group of paintings and drawings in the years 2005-06, from the series called Al-Boeira (Albufera in Arabic).
The lake landscape is the geography reference, in which we place the body of this research. And, at the same time, who is trying to extract relevant issues that seem to us to realize our thesis. In this study it has been mainly analysed the thematic component and its representative treatment, the compositions and structural developments, the use of colour, the line and the shape as image defining factors.
One of the elements of this work has been the history of this landscape, and its evolution over the time, as well as some components of its cultural aspect, social, philosophical and aesthetic, from a particular perspective: the experience which involved the work created for performing Al-Boeira.
Writing all this has meant a thinking exercise to clarify, as far as possible, the part of our thinking that has to do with what is stated here, allowing us to better understand what others have done. The methodology is structured on the basis of historical background, addressing issues related to art and nature, and nature with the landscape. It has been made a study of those notions of "beauty, taste, picturesque and sublime" applicable to the idea of landscape. Finally, the conclusions reached are in the process of carrying out this research work, and the relationship of images and technical notes of the paintings and drawings by Al-Boeira.
