Diseño de vestuario en la adaptación fílmica de la novela "Dorothy debe morir"

Abstract

[ES] La finalidad de este trabajo será diseñar el vestuario para una hipotética adaptación cinematográfica de la novela Dorothy debe morir basándose en la estética de la historia. Para ello se hará un análisis de la novela, la cual es una secuela en un ambiente más lúgubre de la historia original de El mago de Oz. La novela presenta a una nueva protagonista, Amy, la cual aparece en el mundo de Oz, donde Dorothy ha vuelto y se ha convertido en una tirana cruel. Todo el trabajo se realizará teniendo en cuenta el funcionamiento y las características del diseño de vestuario, enfocado en el sector audiovisual junto con el diseño de producción del mismo. A su vez, se investigará el proceso de adaptación de una novela a una película tomando como ejemplo el “predecesor ” de dicha novela, El mago de Oz mediante el análisis de la obra en su formato “libro” y audiovisual “película” analizando también el contraste entre las dos.[EN] The purpose of this work will be to design the costumes for a hypothetical film adaptation of the novel Dorothy Must Die based on the aesthetics of the story. This will be done by analysing the novel, which is a sequel in a more grim setting to the original Wizard of Oz story. The novel introduces a new protagonist, Amy, who appears in the world of Oz, where Dorothy has returned and has become a cruel tyrant. All the work will be carried out taking into account the functioning and characteristics of costume design, focusing on the audiovisual sector together with the production design of the same. At the same time, the process of adapting a novel into a film will be investigated, taking as an example the "predecessor" of this novel, The Wizard of Oz, by analysing the work in its "book" and audiovisual "film" format, also analysing the contrast between the two.
