[EN] This article deals with the Mediterranean Design as an element of cultural identity and its main objective is to identify through the literary revision those epigraphs that define the "Mediterranean identity" in the area of industrial design.
Great designers and emerging professionals question and ask about the continuity of the profession in these times of crisis, so it is necessary to understand that design is not alien to the social, economic and political changes, that the culture of the project has expand to generate alternatives more sensitive to reality. Faced with the widely spoken "Mediterranean style" from different
disciplines such as architecture, fashion, even cooking with the so-called "Mediterranean diet", is that this preliminary analysis aims to focus on the nature that defines the "Mediterranean" All this taking into account socio-cultural, economic and political variables in projects and actions such as the Mediterranean Corridor, which defines the geographical framework of action (the Latin Mediterranean Arc). It is detected in the first place; the existence of companies that currently and intuitively use the "Mediterranean identity" in the design and development of their products; and second, an important increase in the values of authenticity, respect for the environment and natural products, together with the cultural value associated with the product.

[EN] The problems faced today have increased in complexity and require a "systemic view" of the designer, considering the solution to be projected as a component of larger systems, that is, the solution can not be seen in isolation, but integrated into a context more broadly. This article, therefore, aims to study and apply the concepts of open system and closed system to the field of design. To do this, we make use of theoretical, qualitative and exploratory research on the themes based on secondary sources. The result contributes to the understanding and discussion of the systemic approach to design. In this perspective design includes designing and evaluating products not as physical object, but considering the functions of use, exchange, social, cultural and environmental. In addition, the design is practiced in interdisciplinary teams with the participation of specialists and actors related to the problem and the solution, pointing to approaches such as social innovation and local sustainable development.; [PT] Os problemas enfrentados atualmente aumentaram de complexidade e passaram a exigir uma “visão sistêmica” do designer, devendo considerar a solução a ser projetada como um componente integrante de sistemas mais vastos, ou seja, a solução não pode ser vista isoladamente, mas integrada a um contexto mais amplo.

[EN] The current society lives in a tumultuous context, being common people live
more stressed, feeding badly and living less and less with people, losing
opportunities to make and maintain personal relationships. As this lifestyle is
saturated, generating health problems for individuals, there are several
studies that prove the tendency for people to seek better use of their time,
greater contact with nature, giving value to their own well-being , paying
more attention to what is consumed and how it is consumed, as well as
valuing the pleasure of being in a social environment. In this context, the
objective of this work is to contribute through the systemic vision and the
design, to the incentive and practice of the Slow Food philosophy, and in this
way, to promote the concern with a healthy form of food and the
collaborative action among the people, in which one individual can
cooperate with the other, rescuing the social and socialization. Thus, it is intended to work in small external urban units, such as buildings,
condominiums, squares and avenues with the intention of creating an artifact
that motivates the practice of this philosophy, as well as boosting the
collaborative practices in these places, seeking social integration and
development economic and environmental, according to the principles of
sustainability and local development. The research method used is
descriptive, in which the situations and relations of individuals, both
individually and in society, were observed and analyzed. The instruments
chosen for data collection were the questionnaire, interviews and open
observations, made informally during the interviews. In this work we
integrate two methods of design, the HCD / IDEO (Human Centered Design)
tool, used as a base, with techniques to understand the desires and needs of
the studied community and the NASDesign / UFSC (Center for Systemic
Approach to Design / Federal University of Santa Catarina), divided into
three phases: Feel, Act and Realize, as a complement. At the end, it is
concluded that the physical model of the proposed product meets a list of
requirements divided into three major groups: product requirements,
referring to the shape, materials and textures of the object; user
requirements, referring to the need understood from the type of environment
in which the product is, and how it is being used, and the requirements of the

[EN] Rural tourism appears, in Brazil, as an interest of the sector in the dynamics of rural spaces that represent new experiences for the traveler, being the main motivation the contact with rural communities. Its potential is focused on the historical and cultural character and in the ways of living and producing, evidencing the diversity of social groups and the immateriality of their tradition. The appreciation of the culture of a territory can contribute to the economic and social development and also favor the increase of the tourism industry. In this sense, tourism is understood as a "complex" activity that involves relations between the human social context, the influence of the sector of products and services of the economy and the sociocultural dynamics. To analyze the phenomenon of tourism is to consider the environment as integrated to other areas, in a systemic approach. Tourism supplements the needs of the market and formats the object of sale in a commercial product that is intangible and demands a more comprehensive look, beyond the logic of producer and consumer. In this sense, ii is important to reflect on the communities’ interrelationships, questioning how the connection between tourism with rural communities and local cultural heritage is established? Where does Design fit into this scenario? This qualitative theoretical article intends to contextualize rural tourism by relating it to cultural heritage as perspectives for Systemic Design actions aimed at the development of rural communities and socio-cultural specificities. The method included the literature review available in articles and printed books or in electronic databases to compose the theoretical reference. It is believed that this study brings contributions to point out gaps for Design actions, focused on the conceptions of rural spaces, without losing sight of the history that constituted them, exploring their non-agricultural activities, the form of participation of the local social actors, especially the farming family, and their association in the sale of products and services representative of the local cultural heritage.; [PT] O turismo rural surge no Brasil na década de 1990 como interesse do setor nas dinâmicas dos espaços rurais que representam novas experiências a serem oferecidas ao viajante, sendo a principal motivação o contato com comunidades rurais.

[EN] The interest in innovation in Florianópolis during the month of October is observable by the high number of events that happen, being able to be grouped in three dimensions: technology, environmental and social. Although they are different dimensions, they all seek reflection, learning and organized planning linked to innovation. However, these events are organized and communicated individually, creating situations of direct competition between them. The development of a local image, as well as highlighting the cultural and experiential characteristics of the place, results in special interest in the strategic communication management of the city. The objective of this article is to raise characteristics and attributes for the creation of a name and brand values that considers all the agents involved in the innovation events in Florianópolis. The research perspective was based on theory based on a systemic approach, and its classification: applied by its nature, qualitative by the way of approach, exploratory by its objectives and a case study by technical procedures. The objects surveyed were platforms of social networks of study events. The methods of analysis were: textual analysis of the content by means of word clouds of the contents of the platforms of the social networks of study; and evaluation and diagnosis of words by naming techniques.; [PT] O interesse em inovação em Florianópolis durante o mês de outubro é observável pelo elevado número de eventos que acontecem, podendo ser

[EN] Design education centers and their teachers know that not all users are equal in their needs or interests. User-centered approaches help, within the design process to meet needs, requirements and expectations to enhance the range and acceptance of products (Altay, 2014; Zoltowski, Oakes & Cardella, 2012). To meet this aim, in teaching, different research strategies are imparted for identifying those outcomes that, beyond functionality, includes other variables to the product’s experience. These strategies share a common aim: to identify by direct contact features that if consider, may enhance the resultant product (Altay, 2014.). This kind of formation is usually included in the learner-centered instruction; and is useful when the students expand their knowledge in the needed data and use it for the intended aim. Programs that teaches the students to develop their natural abilities to help them “think on” design instead of solving specific design problems (Gorgul & Gorgul, 2012) are a reality. And, while as an environment it promotes learning through experimentation as the perfect medium to grow students as innovators; they usually are not designed considering the personal characteristics and traits that may also be needed to be counted to better comprehend how does previous conditions to education are related to the intended individualistic redesign of curricula. The purpose of this proposal is to investigate personal curiosity as an underlying condition to innovation and design education that may alter the results of a design methodology intended to improve the students´ project-based learning. For this correlational study participants were recruited from Technology Exploration & Design, and Analysis of Mechanisms courses, using a convinience sampling method. Respondents were required to complete two rating scales, one assessing curiosity as a trait and the other assessing their creativity style.

[EN] Human’s motion and its mechanisms had become interesting in the last years, where the medecine’s field search for rehabilitation methods for handicapped persons. Other fields, like sport sciences, professional or military world, search to distinguish profiles and ways to train them with specific purposes. Besides, recent findings in neuroscience try to describe these mechanisms from an organic point of view. Until now, different researchs had given a model about control motor that describes how the union between the senses’s information allows adaptable movements. One of this sense is the proprioception, the sense which has a quite big factor in the orientation and position of the body, its members and joints. For this reason, research for new strategies to explore proprioception and improve the theories of human motion could be done by three different vias. At first, the sense is analysed in a case-study where three groups of persons are compared in a controlled enviroment with three experimental tasks. The subjects belong to each group by the kind of sport they do: sedentary, normal sportsmen (e.g. athletics, swimming) and martial sportmen (e.g. karate, judo). They are compared thinking about the following hypothesis: “Martial Sportmen have a better proprioception than of the other groups’s subjects: It could be due to the type of exercises they do in their sports as empirically, a contact sportsman shows significantly superior motor skills to the members of the other two groups. The second via are records from encephalogram (EEG) while the experimental tasks are doing. These records are analised a posteriori with a set of processing algorithms to extract characteristics about brain’s activity of the proprioception and motion control. Finally , the study tries to integrate graphic tools to make easy to understand final scientific results which allow us to explore the brain activity of the subjects through easy interfaces (e.g. space-time events, activity intensity, connectivity, specific neural netwoks or anormal activity).

[EN] The General Theory of Systems has been successfully applied to diverse
disciplines, among them also to the design. This contribution focuses on the
graphic design of the brand as a visual element and representative of the
company of great importance in the current corporate management. Using
the General Theory of Systems, a model is proposed for the graphic
development of a brand that facilitates and guides the decision making in this
area. To do this, the processes followed by the designer from the time he
receives the order until its final application are analyzed, in order to take
