La representación biográfica a partir del retrato

Abstract

[ES] A lo largo de mi trayectoria artística he trabajado en numerosas ocasiones en el ámbito del retrato. El retrato es una de las categorías pictóricas que más se ha explotado a nivel expresivo, desde Van Dick hasta Bacon. Hay numerosos referentes cuya personalidad y visión acerca del retrato ha quedado patente en su obra. Teniendo en consideración a todos estos, ejecuto mi obra personal reflexionando acerca de las vivencias del día a día. Observo a las gentes, analizo e imagino su vida a través del dibujo de sus facciones. El rostro podríamos decir que es el papel blanco que se va manchando, rasgando, arrugando y dibujando en función de la vida de su portador.

El retrato del mismo modo se convierte en un método de reflexión e investigación. Las vivencias personales, la morfología del rostro, el carácter y la forma de retratar forma un conjunto que hacen de cada retrato una verdad.

A través de diferentes métodos pictóricos y dibujísticos, y ayudándome de herramientas como la fotografía, el espejo y bocetos preparatorios, realizare una serie de retratos, que serán una biografía plástica sobre el transcurso de la vida de mis dos abuelos. Así, se generará una obra que será el resultado de lo vivido y lo conseguido durante toda una vida y podremos observar las diferencias entre dos vidas de la misma época y lugar

Estará formado por una serie de retratos de mis abuelos, de distintas épocas, edades, donde podré observar de primera mano el efecto del tiempo en personas cercanas. El trabajo estará formado por siete retratos de cada uno de ellos, con orden cronológico y uno encima del otro en paralelo, para poder así observar las similitudes y diferencias entre ellos.

[EN] Throughout my artistic career I have worked on numerous occasions in the field of portraiture. The portrait is one of the pictorial categories that has been most exploited expressively, from Van Dick to Bacon. There are numerous referents whose personality and vision about the portrait has been evident in his work. Taking all these into consideration, I execute my personal work reflecting on the day-to-day experiences. I observe people, analyze and imagine their life through the drawing of their features. The face we could say is the white paper that is staining, tearing, wrinkling and drawing depending on the life of its carrier.

The portrait in the same way becomes a method of reflection and investigation. The personal experiences, the morphology of the face, the character and the way of portraying form an ensemble that make each portrait a truth.

Through different pictorial and drawing methods, and using tools such as photography, the mirror and preparatory sketches, I will make a series of portraits, which will be a plastic biography about the course of my two grandparents' lives. Thus, a work will be generated that will be the result of what has been lived and what has been achieved during a lifetime and we will be able to observe the differences between two lives of the same time and place.

It will be formed by a series of portraits of my grandparents, from different times, ages, where I will be able to observe first-hand the effect of time on nearby people. The work will consist of seven portraits of each of them, in chronological order and one above the other in parallel, to be able to observe the similarities and differences between them.
