| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | [EN] The project is named after one of the most influential scientific Spanish women nowadays, Elena García Armada, specialized in engineering and robotics, and the creator of the first exoskeleton for kids, as a recognition for her job and research in the field of science and technology. The proposal is located on a plot in Benimàmet, in the province of Valencia, close to the site of Feria de Muestras and next to Les Carolines-Fira subway station and the new urban linear park. The site has a 3-meter high difference, a factor which benefits the connection throughout the building in more than one level, on the lower level and the first one. The geographic and demographic conditions of the site fuel the design of big exterior spaces that complement the center¿s proposed architectural program. With these starting points, five independent volumes are stablished ¿ three corresponding to the Higher Studies, organized in pairs, one to the administration and another to the gym. The blocks are staggered as they approach the residential area. The Western block is the longest but the shortest in height (low level + I) and, the Eastern one, the shortest but the tallest one (low level + III). They are also staggered regarding the floor plan to break the flatness and move away from the road in the South. All of the blocks are attached on the first floor through a light exterior walkway that divides the exterior space into a tree area and a square. The main goal of the project is to bring interior and exterior spaces together, wether they are on the same or different levels, and also to connect the project with its surroundings, the subway station and the Green Track. | es_ES |
