[EN] The aim of the work is to develop new Ti-In alloys with the express difficulty of the difference in the melting temperatures of both materials, which makes it extremely difficult to obtain these alloys by casting techniques. The exploration of powder metallurgy as an alternative technique has certain advantages, although it is very important to evaluate the behavior of these alloys after sintering. By means of conventional powder technology (Press and Sinter) samples with different Indian compositions will be obtained for their physical, mechanical and chemical characterization, but with special emphasis on four fundamental properties that are required for these alloys for their final application.
The samples obtained will be evaluated electrochemically to determine their resistance to corrosion and therefore analyze the effect of the addition of these elements on their electrochemical resistance in basic simulation electrolytes. In addition, it will be necessary to determine the release of ions that on the one hand can produce a toxicity, on the part of the Indium.
All this will lead the student to get in touch with new techniques and will provide a know-how with which to connect the basic and specific knowledge of science and technology of materials for its application in the field of chemical technologies. In addition, you will be asked to manage the information from different sources and above all to use the computer tools for searching and classifying bibliographic information resources. This will force you to manage the information in other languages, especially English, necessary throughout the entire work.
