[EN] The purpose of this project is to detail the construction and analysis of the first HackAIR prototype. The EU's project HackAIR is meant to provide citizens with an accurate and inexpensive way to monitor the air quality in their surroundings. This will increase people¿s awareness of particulate matter and teach them about the dangers of air pollution.
This paper will outline the goals and objectives that were set out to achieve during the semester long EPS project as well as the methods for completing them. These objectives include constructing and providing a technical evaluation for the first prototype, providing information on existing sensor technologies, completing a comparison of various sensors, and testing some of these sensors to determine their accuracy levels compared to reference equipment.
The results of the technical evaluation will be discussed and feedback will be given for the HackAIR team to consider. The problems that were encountered with the HackAIR platform will be given and the solutions used to solve these problems in this study will also be discussed. Results of the sensor accuracy tests will also be provided and analyzed so that future calibrations can be completed.
Finally, recommendations for modifications to the HackAIR platform as well as for future work for EPS project teams moving forward will be given.
