Mejoras para la prevención de incendios con ganado ovino en el MUP nº 95 ''Sierra Negrete' en Utiel (Valencia)

Abstract

[ES] En el monte de Utilidad Pública nº 95, denominado Sierra Negrete y perteneciente al ayuntamiento de Utiel (Valencia) existen una serie de infraestructuras para la prevención de incendios, entre las de destacan diversas áreas cortafuegos. Para que sean efectivas desde un punto de vista de prevención de incendios debe existir un control en el desarrollo de vegetación, que obliga a un desbroce periódico, con unos costes relevantes. En este contexto existe la posibilidad de emplear un rebaño de ganado ovino que pasta en las proximidades como una herramienta que ayude al control de la vegetación y a la prevención de incendios. El objetivo del presente trabajo es determinar cuáles son las actividades precisas para el empleo del rebaño en el control sobre el crecimiento de la vegetación con un objetivo múltiple de mantenimiento de la producción ganadera y de prevención de incendios. Se estudiarán las condiciones del medio en el entorno de las infraestructuras de prevención y se analizarán las alternativas de producción ganadera y de control de la vegetación. Se discutirán las posibles implicaciones y se propondrán las actividades a realizar para cumplir con los objetivos fijados.

[EN] In public utility mountain nº 95, denominated Sierra Negrete and belonging to the city council of Utiel (Valencia) there are a series of infrastructures for the prevention of fires, among which several firebreak areas stand out. To be effective from a fire prevention, there must be a control in the development of vegetation, which requires periodic clearing, with relevant costs. In this context, there is the possibility of using a herd of sheep grazing as a tool to help control vegetation and prevent fires. The objective of this work has been to determine what are the precise activities for the use of the herd in the control over the growth of the vegetation with a multiple objective of maintenance of livestock production and fire prevention. In the first place, the study area has been characterized and described, in addition, the different environmental conditions in the environment of the prevention infrastructures have been studied, classified and valued. Subsequently, the most interesting alternatives for livestock production and control of vegetation have been proposed and analyzed, to finally go on to discuss the possible implications and propose a series of activities or improvements to be carried out in a sustainable way to meet the objectives set.
