Russafa viu. Centro socio-cultural y alojamientos para estudiantes.

Abstract

[EN] We are in the historic neighborhood of Ruzafa, located south of the city of Valencia. We have to go back to the Muslim era to be able to know its origins. Ruzafa was an old independent municipality until the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century when it was annexed to the city of Valencia due to the two extensions of 1887 and 1912 that enlarged the city to the south and southeast. As a result of this expansion, the historical fabric of the neighborhood has continued to remain until today. A plot, which in certain spaces was not known to solve correctly with the grid of the new extensions, giving rise to the so-called ''lost block'', a block with a wasted interior space, poorly resolved, where you can see the remains of the old plot in contrast to the new buildings built between 1980 and 2000. With the aim of revitalizing this interior of the block, a new project for a socio-cultural center and accommodation for students is proposed. A space that regenerates and reactivates the neighborhood, becoming a place of relationship for all citizens. At the same time, a block for student accommodation is proposed, becoming an accessible space for all the residents of Ruzafa, and the implementation of green areas with the aim of regenerating the block and completely changing its previous conception.

[ES] Nos encontramos en el barrio histórico de Ruzafa, situado al sur de la ciudad de Valencia. Nos tenemos que remontar a la época musulmana para poder conocer sus orígenes. Ruzafa era un antiguo municipio independiente hasta que a partir de finales del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX fue anexionado a la ciudad de Valencia a causa de los dos ensanches de 1887 y 1912 que agrandaron la ciudad hacia el sur y al sudeste. A raíz de esta expansión, la trama histórica del barrio ha seguido permaneciendo hasta nuestros días. Una trama, que en ciertos espacios no se supo solucionar correctamente con la retícula de los nuevos ensanches dando lugar a la llamada ‘’manzana perdida’’, una manzana con un espacio interior desaprovechado, mal resuelto, donde se puede observar los restos de la trama antigua en contraposición de las nuevas edificaciones construidas entre los años 1980 y 2000. Con el objetivo de revitalizar este interior de manzana, se propone un nuevo proyecto de centro socio-cultural y alojamiento para estudiantes. Un espacio que regenere y reactive el barrio, convirtiéndose en un lugar de relación para toda la ciudadanía. Al mismo tiempo, se plantea un bloque para alojamiento de estudiantes, convirtiéndose en un espacio accesible para todos los vecinos de Ruzafa, y la implantación de zonas verdes con el objetivo de regenerar la manzana y cambiar por completo su concepción anterior
