dc.description.abstract | [EN] Powder Metallurgy(P/M) is a processing approach belonging to the general technological/scientific area of metalworking. This area of technology has a much later development than others like forging of molding and it is in consequence being much more studied and developed nowadays. P/M is interesting since it directly shapes powders into final components. In the following, a brief introduction to P/M science and technologies will be presented. The work I conducted in the Powder Technology Laboratory (PTL) at SDSU during about 6 months is motivated in the potential that P/M has to develop new processes and new composite materials aimed to obtain specific properties.
