dc.description.abstract [EN] Increased competition between airlines and high fuel prices make it necessary to optimize all components of an airplane. These components have also to be as light as possible to minimize the travel costs of the aircraft. In this Master Thesis project the modeling of fiber reinforced sandwich we will studied. Due to the necessity of lightweight with high strength and stiffness of the structure, a composite material made of honeycomb structure reinforced with fiber reinforced polymer laminates has been chosen. This material has good properties of lightness and strength. The high importance of mechanical vibrations that occur in a plane, require a study of how the can be properly modeled for computational predictions using Finite Element Analysis. The damping behavior of material and other structural elements play a critical part in the calculation. es_ES
