dc.description.abstract [EN] Household waste is becoming an increasingly big handling and depositing problem in most western countries. One way of getting rid of such waste material is by burning it in a dedicated incinerator plant and use the generated energy for the production of electricity and district heating. This study should describe the elements and functioning of such a modern ¿waste to energy¿ incineration plant, discuss the possible ways of material recycling (metals etc), energy recovery, ash and residue handling as well as state of the art flue gas cleaning processes. es_ES
