[EN] The all-electric aircraft aims to be the solution for the future generation of aircrafts to enter into service from 2030. There are regulations that are pushing the industry to strive meeting the goals for low emissions in CO2 and NOx, noise and fuel burn. In addition there are some technologies that are under research and could enable these novel systems. The aim of this research is to complete a functional analysis supported by knowledge capture using knowledge sources from within the company and published information of the electrical power system for an all-electric aircraft.
The base for the functional analysis is a thorough knowledge acquisition stage conducted within the company and external sources. The functional analysis is completed in a manner that the resulting function model is not solution dependent. The generic functionalities provide a wide frame for different solutions associated to each function. The technical solutions are brought by creative thinking during brainstorm sessions and as output of the previous knowledge acquisition phase. Finally whole system concepts are presented according to four different scenarios, following the functional means analysis method.
The results is a new approach the electrical power system of the all-electric aircraft based in system thinking, which facilitate innovation in order to reduce the overall weight of the system. As a conclusion the paper presents the first iteration of a more complex research project that leads to an optimum design of the electrical power system for the All-Electric Aircraft. The methodology used has brought innovative ideas to the research scenario and is the starting point of a longer research project in the way of reducing the weight and cost of the aircraft systems in order to reach feasible levels.
