dc.description.abstract This project consists of three main parts. The first one is connected to the area of robotics, the second one to networking issues and the last one deals with multimedia. The robotics part (chapter 3) is the one which includes the robot Mentor kinematics description as well as some information about the controller. The part connected to the networking contains basic information about wireless communication, including router with access point, Wi-Fi standards and Bluetooth as option. The connection between the handheld and the server is established using Wi-Fi 802.11b standard or USB cable optionally. The other type of network is based on Bluetooth, this may be used for transferring files from a computer. Using networks connection it is possible to transfer files required from the workstation to the server and to the handheld. The last part of the project is connected to multimedia and includes a description of the source code written for the handheld and the server. The handheld device that is used as a remote control has the function of sending data through the server to the robot Mentor. It is possible also to control the robot with a desktop PC. es_ES
