| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | From the decade of the 90¿s, new technologies have been developed in the telephony branch, being Voice over IP (VoIP) one of the most outstanding technologies. VoIP is a set of protocols for transporting voice over IP networks, which has significant advantages over the traditional analog telephony. Asterisk is a digital Private Branch Exchange (PBX) developed under Open Source Software that integrates the functionalities of traditional telephony with new capabilities derived from its flexible and powerful architecture that also allows the connectivity in real-time between Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and VoIP networks. This study describes the installation and configuration of a fully functional Asterisk PBX that allows offer advanced telephony services to small and medium enterprises. Fundamental protocols conforming the VoIP technology regarding signalling communication protocols (such as SIP and IAX), transport protocol (RTP), and voice coding, have also been studied and analysed. Several scenarios are presented to perform the connection between Asterisk PBX, VoIP service providers, analog telephones and traditional PBX. In addition, an MPLS network has been designed and configured in order to establish the communication basis that help to develop all the VoiP services that Asterisk offers, and to facilitate its implementation in corporative networks. | es_ES |
