[EN] The evolution of art, since the beginning and under a playful and entertaining approach, has been the starting point to design the work proposal and different activities proposed in this case study. These proposal is based on the capacity of the activities designed as tools for personal benefit as well as the numerous educative associations and organizations that demand “Artistic Mediation” as a basic social provision as part of their services offered, highlighting the importance of its application in the field of Special Education.
Having said that, along this paper it is stressed the relevance to stimulate the development of key factors in the communicative field (e.g. feelings, emotions, sensations,…) in those people with difficulties because of their functional diversity, as well as the competences of a good mediator (e.g. empathy, active listening…) during the process of guiding and accompanying participants during the execution of the workshops.
To conclude this case study, it is important to mention its structure in two parts closely related. On the one hand, there is a theoretical foundation about Artistic Mediation stressing the general characteristics which define it. On the other hand, the second part is more practical explaining the planning and implementation of different workshops carried out in two different stages, a private occupational workshop and an open special education classroom in a Public School, both having similar participant and/or student profiles with functional diversity.

[ES] El presente proyecto, teórico práctico y experiencial, se fundamenta principalmente en el estudio de casos, llevados a cabo a través de la Mediación Artística en el ámbito de la educación especial, bajo el interés de compartir la formación académica recibida a lo largo del Grado de Bellas Artes con la importancia de transmitir y potenciar ciertos valores fundamentales a través del uso del arte como medio de expresión y su la puesta en práctica en los talleres diseñados para personas con diversidad funcional; abarcando desde la etapa educativa en un colegio público, hasta la etapa ocupacional en una asociación de familias. Ha supuesto en ambos casos, el reto personal de fomentar, desarrollar e incrementar, por medio de la experimentación de las diferentes técnicas artísticas utilizadas, la exteriorización de emociones y sentimientos, dejando de lado el tabú existente acerca del resultado final y de las dificultades de expresión de sentimientos, para centrarnos en el proceso como elemento enriquecedor, bajo la premisa de que todos somos iguales a pesar de nuestras diferencias: Uniendo capacidades construimos comunidad.
