Análisis histórico-artístico Santísimo Cristo de La Fe (Paterna)

Abstract

[EN] Paterna’s population belongs to Valencia’s province. Between much of it’s cultural treasures it has one that may be is the most precious by all it’s habitants. I’m talking about the “Santísimo CRISTO DE LA FE” located in the church San Pedro Apostle in the principal square of the village. The love towards this image is so strong. Probably it is from XV-XVI century, and during this investigation it is been trying to unite dates for being able to say the date of the real image that disappeared in 1936. This also happened with a lot of images. Since 1939, two statures from Christ were made in order to replace the one missed. One of them is located in San Pedro Apostle Church, and the other is used in parades and is located in the chapel de la Mare de Deu del Rosari. Through this study with dates that have been published and collected to this investigation, it has been documented that each size, with the techniques by which they were realized as well as the restorations made, and also obtaining a general vision of the devotion made through the years. What it has been allowed to document and recover of the history and par of those that participate in it’s idea of representing as in it’s elaborations.

[ES] La población de Paterna pertenece a la provincia de Valencia, entre muchos de sus tesoros culturales alberga uno que puede que sea el más venerado por todos sus habitantes, me refiero al Santísimo CRISTO DE LA FE, titular de la Iglesia de San Pedro Apóstol ubicada en la plaza principal de la villa. La devoción hacia ésta imagen es mucha, data desde el siglo XV-XVI posiblemente, durante esta investigación se ha intentado unir fechas para poder datar la imagen original que desapareció en 1936, tal y como ocurrió con muchas imágenes, a partir de 1939 se realizaron dos tallas del Cristo para sustituir a la desaparecida, una es la titular de la Iglesia de San Pedro Apóstol y la otra se utiliza de forma procesional y está ubicada en la Capilla de la Mare de Deu del Rosari. A través de este estudio, con datos publicados e inéditos, recopilados durante esta investigación, se ha podido documentar como es cada talla, con que técnicas, donde se realizó cada una de ellas y sus autores, así como las restauraciones realizadas, además de obtener una visión general de la devoción desarrollada a través de los años. Lo que ha permitido documentar y recuperar su historia y parte de la de aquellos que participaron tanto en su idea de representación como en su elaboración.
