dc.description.abstract [EN] Increasing demands of emission legislation make the new combustion strategies start to be develop. Among these strategies, Partially Premixed Combustion is found. PPC allows a longer premixed duration of fuel and air mixture, meeting the new emission legislation and improving fuel efficiency. The aim of this master thesis is the development of a better understanding of the PPC by studying the combustion homogeneity. To carry out this study, chemiluminescence imaging is used in an optical setup. This makes possible the collection of a number of images which show the combustion process for different injection strategies. A frequency analysis is used in this project to analyse the homogeneity. A frequency analysis consists of analysing a mathematical function with respect to frequency, rather than time. In other words, whereas a time analysis shows how a function changes over the time, the frequency domain shows how much of the function lies on each given frequency band over a range of frequencies. Mathematical operators such as Fourier Transform or Laplace Transform can be used to convert signals between the time and frequency domains. Fast Fourier Transform is the one used in this master thesis. es_ES
