El Colegio Mayor de la Seda: rehabilitación y protección

Abstract

es] En este Trabajo Final de Máster se estudia la rehabilitación y protección del Colegio del Arte Mayor de la Seda de Valencia. En primer lugar se estudia el origen de la seda y su desarrollo a lo largo de la historia, así como las rutas de la seda en la ciudad de Valencia, en la cual nos encontramos numerosos vestigios de importancia de la seda a lo largo de la historia. La Lonja de los mercaderes, conocida como Lonja de la Seda y el Mercado Central, en pleno centro histórico de la ciudad. En segundo lugar iniciamos un recorrido histórico sobre El Colegio, centrándonos en una de sus partes más importantes como es el archivo, en el cual se recopilan numerosas obras. A su vez se resume las transformaciones que han ido haciéndose a lo largo de los años en él. En cuanto a la protección del Colegio, se rige por dos principales leyes, la Ley de Patrimonio Histórico Español 16/1985 y la Ley 4/1988, de 11 de Junio, del Patrimonio Cultural de la Comunidad Valenciana, modificada por la Ley 7/2004, Ley 5/2007 y Ley 9/2017, de 7 de abril. En cuarto lugar, y siendo uno de los principales puntos del trabajo, se describe la última rehabilitación que ha sufrido el Colegio, y una de las más importantes en los últimos años. Fue llevada a cabo por el Arquitecto Fernando Aranda Navarro, y subvencionada por la fundación Hortensia Herrero impulso de la actividad del mecenazgo cultural en la Comunitat Valenciana. Por último se propone la activación del Colegio del Arte Mayor de la Seda como recurso turístico, mediante una puesta en valor y una serie de actividades las cuales fomenten sus visitas, incluyendo un estudio de los costes e ingresos el cual dispone el Colegio para su correcto funcionamiento.

[EN] The aim of this end of master’s project is the study of the improvement works and protection of the Silk’s Art School (Colegio del Arte Mayor de la Seda) in Valencia. First, it studies the origin of silk and its development throughout history, and the silk routes in the city of Valencia, where we can still find relics that show the importance of the silk route throughout history: The Merchants Market,(Lonja de Mercaderes), also known as Silk Market and the Central Market, in the heart of the city. Second, we start a historical tour about the school, focusing on one of its most important parts, which is the archive, where there’s a collection of several works. At the same time, we summarize the different transformations which have taken place in it. Regarding the protection of the school, it is ruled by 2 main acts. The Spanish Historical Heritage act 16/1985 and the Cultural Heritage of the Valencian Community Act 4/1988 of June 11th modified by the act 7/2004 and act 5/2007. Fourth, and one of the most important issues of the project, it is described the last improvement works and restoration that have taken place in the school, one of the most important in the last years. It was executed by the architect Fernando Aranda Navarro, and was subsidized by the Hortensia Herrero Foundation, an impulse for the cultural patronage in the Valencian Community. Last, it has been proposed to activate the silk’s Art School as a tourist resource, by means of making it a museum and a series of activities that encourage their visits.
