However, there is an information source that sleeps in the work contracts, but whose language poses difficulties for its exact understanding. The paper shows the application of drawing in the interpretation of the work contracts conducted in the Viceroyalty of Peru to understand the characteristics of the vaults, through the reading of archive texts, the revision of treaties and the development of isometries. It is precisely the drawing that saves the cryptic nature of these texts, allowing a graphic understanding of the writings of the master builders.[ES] El advenimiento de materiales contemporáneos y desarrollo de técnicas constructivas modernas ha condenado al olvido muchas de las antiguas artes de construir, impactando en las intervenciones en la arquitectura patrimonial, ya que el desconocimiento de los sistemas constructivos antiguos impide un correcto tratamiento de sus materiales y entendimiento de su comportamiento estructural. No obstante, existe una fuente informativa que duerme en los conciertos de obra, pero cuyo lenguaje plantea dificultades para su exacta comprensión. El artículo muestra la aplicación del dibujo en la interpretación de los conciertos de obra realizados en el Virreinato de Perú para entender las características de las bóvedas encamonadas, mediante la lectura de textos de archivos, la revisión de tratados y el desarrollo de isometrías.
