ABSTRACT Health Service, in general, and the sanitary management of the presentation of Temporary Disability (I.T.), especially in mental disorders, they are matters of great social, economic and sanitary transcendency nowadays in Spain. This Thesis tries to describe the variability, for centers of health, in I.T.'s process prescription of pathologies included in the code 300 of the CIE, in the Valencian Community (C.V.), during 2009 and to know the variables with which the above mentioned variability is associated, as essential element for the improvement of the sanitary management of this presentation. For it, 480.755 I.T.'s processes have been studied by all the diagnoses happened during 2009 in the C.V., of that 26.069 processes corresponded to the diagnostic code 300. This information has been obtained of the information systems of the Conselleria of Health and the Valencian Agency of Health, previous obligatory authorization. The unit of analysis has been IT's process incident in 739 Centers of Health and Auxiliary Doctor's offices of the CV. The used methodology has been: the descriptive analysis with the test of the averages to detect significant differences depending on the different variables partner demographic, geographical and of organization of the Valencian Agency of Health, the analysis of the variance and the analysis of regression. There is stated that the sanitary indicators of management are significantly top in the population integrated by the professionals of the sanitary public system that in the labor general population. Likewise, a significant variability is demonstrated between the centers of health, between the departments of health and between the provinces of the C.V. Also significant differences have been stated considering the factors: litoralidad, accreditation for the medical postgraduate formation, and size of the population where it takes root in the center of health. The analysis of linear multiple regression manages to explain 28,7 % of the variability of the prescription of the processes in the centers of health. The centers of health of the province of Valencia with regard to those of Castellón, the centers of health of the littoral with regard to those of the interior, and the centers accredited for the teaching 300 present major incident of I.T.'s process prescription for code. The variability demonstrated in the prescription of these processes seems to advise the guides' utilization of clinical practice in mental health for the medical professionals of the centers of health. Likewise, the differences detected in the indicators of management of the I.T. in sanitary and not sanitary population, probably advise differential boardings for both populations.
