Niño, espacio e imaginación : desarrollo y tendencias del interiorismo infantil en el ámbito doméstico

Abstract

La casa es el primer mundo que conoce un bebé. Es su hogar y el sitio de su desarrollo que debería representarse como el lugar más cercano y seguro para los niños, donde adquieren sus primeros conocimientos, descubren quiénes son e incrementan su independencia. Este trabajo está enfocado al interiorismo infantil en ambiente doméstico, como uno de los ejercicios de diseño interior más significativos, debido a la importancia que tiene este espacio, no solo durante la infancia, sino también a lo largo de la etapa de desarrollo y de toda la vida en general. Su diseño es una disciplina particular y única dentro del interiorismo, ya que este espacio tiene que evolucionar al mismo tiempo que lo hace la personalidad de cada niño. La habitación se encuentra en una constante transformación para que en cada instante de la infancia logre cumplir las necesidades que a edades tempranas tiene cambios drásticos en sus hábitos y la manera de relacionarse con el mundo que le rodea. La primera parte del trabajo está enfocada al entorno que condiciona todo el proceso del diseño interior infantil. Empieza por la posición e integración del niño en la sociedad a lo largo de historia, crecimiento del niño dividido en etapas en base a su desarrollo, sus necesidades y percepción cambiante, modelos familiares y ambiente educativo. La siguiente parte se centra en la arquitectura infantil; comienza con el desarrollo histórico de la habitación infantil e introduce una serie de consideraciones sobre esta; tres pilares fundamentales (desarrollo emocional y social, físico y cognitivo) definirán las bases para un diseño correcto. Por un lado, el espacio debe cumplir estándares y normativas, marcar zonas para distintas actividades del niño y ser el espacio de mayor confort; por otro lado, tiene que saber adaptarse a la percepción interior que tiene cada niño de la realidad, para potenciar y definir su personalidad y creatividad. A fin de cuentas el espacio infantil es ¿un lugar del niño y para el niño¿`[1] . Se busca participación en el proceso de diseño y maneras de personalizar y hacer suyo el espacio, desarrollando la creatividad e imaginación, convirtiendo el cuarto infantil en su cobijo, una habitación propia donde se sienta cómodo, donde aprenda jugando, investigue y descubra. Se introducen muebles, objetos y elementos que despierten la imaginación y permiten al pequeño interactuar con el entorno cercano. Se intenta definir el límite entre el diseño acabado y un diseño ¿inacabado¿, conscientemente, para despertar la inquietud del niño, transformándolo e imprimiéndole una personalidad propia al espacio. Este es uno de los objetivos principales del trabajo. En la conclusión del trabajo teórico se presenta un estudio comparativo entre la opinión de los padres y de los hijos con respecto al espacio infantil, intentando discernir las razones por las cuales ¿Las personas grandes nunca comprenden nada por sí solas, y es agotador para los niños tener que darles siempre y siempre explicaciones ¿[2]

The house is the first world that a baby knows, is its home and the space of its development that should be represented as the closest and safest place for children, where they acquire their first knowledges, discover who they are and increase their independence. This work is focused on children's interior design in domestic spaces, as one of the most significant interior design line, because of the importance of this space, not only during childhood, but also throughout the development stage and all the life in general. The design of the children's space is a particular and unique discipline within the interiorism, since this space, has to evolve at the same time that the interior of each child evolves. The room is in a constant transformation so that in each moment of childhood, it manages to fulfill the needs of a child who at early ages has drastic changes in their habits and the way of relating to the environment. The first part of the work is focused on the environment that conditions the whole process of children's interior design; Beginning with the position and integration of the child in society through the history, children's growth divided into stages based on their development, their needs and changing perception, sort of family and educational environment. The next part is focused on children's architecture; Starting with the historical development of the children's bedrooms and introducing series of considerations about it; Three fundamental pillars (emotional and social, physical and cognitive development) will define the basis for a proper way of designing. On the one hand the space must acomplish all standards and regulations, set areas for different activities of the child and be the place of higher comfort, on the other hand, can be fitted to the inner perception of each child's reality, to enhance and define his proper personality and creativity. In the end, the children's space is " un lugar del niño y para el niño "[1]. the work if looking for the ways of participation in the design process and personalization of the space, developing the creativity and imagination, turning the children's room into their shelter, a space where they feel comfortable, where they learn by playing, they can investigate and discover. Other point is to introduce furniture, objects and elements that are awaking the imagination and allow to the little one to interact with the nearby environment. The aim of this work is to look for the boundary between the finished design and an consciously "unfinished" design, to arouse the child's concern for transforming it and giving it a personality of its own.
