Los temas de la pintura de paisaje del siglo XIX en Valencia

Abstract

[ES] Dede que, a mediados del siglo XIX, Carlos de Haes y sus enseñanzas irrumpieran en la pintura de paisaje española, el género experimentó una renovación que llegó también a la escuela valenciana. Así, nuestros pintores abandonaron la visión romática del paisaje y se aproximaron a él de un modo más realista. En este estudio se hace un breve repaso de los temas predilectos de los paisajistas valencianos, desde los poblados con ruinas, castillos o edificios religiosos que justificaban de algún modo el propio cuadro, hasta aquéllos escogidos por su belleza natural. Dentro de estos últimos destaca la Huerta de Valencia, un asunto revestido entonces de modernidad que, finalmente, desaprovechado, cayó en el olvido y el desprestigio.

[EN] In the middle of the Nineteenth Century, Carlos de Haes and his teaching produced a renovation in the spanish landscape that arrived at the valencian school. Our painters broke with the romantic vision of landscape and introduced some realistic aspects in their paintings. This article studies the different topics that were more often represented by valencian painters in the Nineteenth Century. Some paintings included ruins, castles or monasteries in order to be justified as a work of art. Nevertheless valencian artist also chose other landscapes to paint for its natural beatuy as the Albufera or the Huerta of Valencia. The latter involvd a certain modernity aura byt the so called huerta lost its appeal and became a sheer folk topic
