dc.description.abstract [EN] Spray A is a spray composed mainly of dodecane and which has been widely studied by several research groups and universities. Spray A was defined not only as a fuel but also as a set of conditions and parameters that define the initial conditions and boundary conditions. In this way, anyone who studies Spray A can compare the results with anyone who has studied it before. The aim of this project is to assess the capability of OpenFOAM, a open-source CFD software, to solve the problem of Spray A injection in a combustion chamber. In this way, thanks to the extensive experimental database available, it will be possible to compare the results of the simulations with the experimental data. This project will be based on the study of non-reactive and reactive cases. The first is, without combustion, considering an inert environment, the second, the combustion is attained, introducing an oxidant into the hot environment. For the study of these cases, the liquid penetration of the fuel, the vapor penetration and the radial concentration of the fuel will be compared to the experimental results. Finally, a study will also be made on the sensitivity of the computational costs of the different simulations according to the different parameters that characterise them. es_ES
