Corporis Reflexum; Investigación Introspectiva del padecer mental y su reflejo en el cuerpo a través del arte.

Abstract

[ES] Con el siguiente trabajo se pretenden abordar temas como la representación del dolor en el arte, la representación del cuerpo herido o la enfermedad mental, especialmente el padecer psicológico y su reflejo en el cuerpo. Para tratar estos conceptos se realizarán tanto una investigación de base teórica como una de base práctica. Por lo tanto, este trabajo se ha estructurado en dos bloques, el primero de acuerdo a fundamentos teóricos y el segundo centrado en la práctica artística.

El primero se enfocará en contextualizar la práctica artística en base al dolor (especialmente psicológico), analizando ideas como el mito romántico de artista como personaje atormentado. Se investigará, a través de las obras de artistas que hayan sufrido alguna enfermedad mental, si el dolor puede o no ser un motor para la creación y si éste influye de alguna manera en las formas de hacer. Este bloque acabará con una reflexión personal acerca del propio dolor y como éste marca la creación de las obras presentadas.

El segundo bloque se centrará en la muestra de la producción artística. Empezando con una serie de obras a modo de preludio, investigando como se puede representar el padecer mental a través del cuerpo herido y cuáles son las mejores técnicas para conseguirlo, hasta llegar a una serie de obras consideradas como definitivas.

[EN] The following work deals with topics such as the representation of pain in art, the representation of the injured body or mental illness, especially psychological suffering and its reflection in the body. To deal with these concepts, both a theoretical-based and a practical-based investigation will be carried out. Therefore, this work has been structured in two blocks, the first according to theoretical foundations and the second focused on artistic practice.

The first will focus on contextualizing artistic practice based on pain (especially psychological), analyzing ideas such as the romantic myth of the artist as a tormented character. It will be investigated, through the works of artists who have suffered from a mental illness, whether or not pain can be a motor for creation and if it influences in any way the ways of doing. This block will end with a personal reflection on pain itself and how it marks the creation of the works presented.

The second block will focus on the exhibition of artistic production. Starting with a series of works as a prelude, investigating how mental suffering can be represented through the wounded body and what are the best techniques to achieve it, until reaching a series of works considered definitive.
