| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | [EN] "Lovers of Verdun" is a concept art project for a comic book or war comic as well as applied in posters that will serve for its promotion. This project covers different fields, highlighting the concept art for the development of a comic as the main methodology, having, in turn, great importance the illustration and screen printing. It will address the origin of war comics, at the end of World War II and its evolution to the present day, adding also a section dedicated to the study of the posters of the First World War. Inspired by titles such as G.I. Combat, Persepolis, Rainbow or Maus, Lovers of Verdun introduces us to a visual narrative story that tells the events that the two protagonists witness during their adventure together through the desolate wastelands of no man's land. As for the artistic production, we have specifically created the design of the characters, the props they use, the scenery, final illustrations, as well as a comic book with its respective cover and promotional posters where we can better understand the general idea of the project. The artistic production is largely influenced by concept art artists such as Adam Adamowicz, artist of the video games Skyrim and Fallout 3, and Jocus Wang, from the team of concept artists of the video game company From Software. In turn, some of this influence is drawn from the manga Hellsing by Kohta Hirano and Rainbow by Masasumi Kakizaki, the comic G.I. Combat by DC Comics and, finally, the graphic novels Maus by Art Spiegelman and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi. | es_ES |
