DEVELOPMENT OF A DESKTOP APPLICATION AND FIRMWARE MODULES FOR COMMUNICATION AND CONTROL, ERROR LOGGING AND DEBUGGING OF OBC PROTOTYPES

Abstract

[ES] El propósito de este proyecto es proporcionar una herramienta que facilite el control de prototipos de OBC desarrollados por la empresa Mahle Electronics S.L.U. permitiendo controlar de indistinta manera lo diferentes modelos y tipos de dispositivo abstrayendo al usuario de sus diferencias. Para ello se utilizar diferentes herramientas ya existentes como base para desarrollar una aplicación específica para el proyecto. De igual manera se busca facilitar la depuración de estos prototipos y así permitir descubrir cómo se producen lo fallos para poder corregirlos rápidamente. Por ello también hará falta modificar el firmware de los dispositivos para conseguir la depuración y registro de errores deseado, y mediante la aplicación desarrollada interpretar los datos generado por estos nuevos módulos de firmware. Resumiendo, el proyecto permitirá ahorrar tiempo tanto en el actual desarrollo en progreso, así como en futuros subproyectos, reduciendo las dificultades (conocidas) a la hora de probar los prototipos y solucionar problemas.

[EN] This project aims to provide a tool that simplifies the control of OBC prototypes developed by the company Mahle Electronics S.L.U. allowing to control the different models and device types indistinctly, abstracting the user from their differences. For this purpose, several existing tools will be used as a base to develop a specific application for the project. In the same way, the aim is to facilitate the debugging of these prototypes and thus allow to discover how the failures occur in order to be able to correct them quickly. Therefore, it will also be necessary to modify the firmware of the targets to achieve the desired debugging and error logging, and by means of the developed application to interpret the data generated by these new firmware modules. In summary, the project will save time both in the ongoing development as well as in future sub-projects by reducing the (known) difficulties in testing prototypes and in troubleshooting.
