Puesta en valor del paisaje cultural del Santuario Virgen de la Estrella

Abstract

[ES] El Santuario Virgen de la Estrella se encuentra en el barrio de la Estrella, ubicado a 16,6 km de Mosqueruela, en la provincia de Teruel. Los orígenes de la Estrella se remontan al siglo XIV, aunque el Santuario que hoy en día se mantiene, fue construido en el año 1720 sobre los cimientos de un templo anterior de menores dimensiones, siguiendo el modelo barroco. Junto al Santuario se encuentran dos edificios históricos de relevancia, la ¿casa vieja¿ y la ¿casa nueva¿, que cierran el marco de la plaza donde se sitúan, cuya finalidad era la de albergar a los viajeros que pasaban por la Estrella.

El barrio de la Estrella consta de unas 40 casas, y en su época de mayor apogeo contó con alrededor de 100 habitantes, de los cuales hasta hace unos meses sólo habitaban en la Estrella dos, Sinforosa y Juan Martín, un matrimonio octogenario conocidos popularmente como los ¿guardianes de la Estrella¿. Estos se encargaban de hacer las tareas de mantenimiento que su estado de salud les permitía, así como enseñar el Santuario a los turistas y visitantes que se acercaban a la Estrella conmovidos por el santuario, su entorno y su historia. Sinforosa y Martín abandonaron La Estrella mientras se realizaba este trabajo por lo que actualmente ya se encuentra deshabitada.

Por todo ello, el presente trabajo final de Máster tiene como objetivo principal la realización de un plan de conservación urgente y unas medidas para la reactivación de un patrimonio cultural que se encuentra en peligro de desactivación. Así mismo, realizar un programa para el desarrollo de un HUB cultural y creativo, combinado con actividades ecoturísticas que otorguen sostenibilidad al conjunto patrimonial a través de una propuesta de un aprendizaje-servicio.

Este fin se alcanzará a partir del estudio del entorno del barrio de la Estrella, recogiendo en fichas de catalogación, todos los elementos patrimoniales para crear un registro de estos recursos que se sitúan en el territorio colindante, a partir del cual elaborar no solo el plan de conservación, sino también el programa para la reactivación, desarrollo y sostenibilidad del conjunto patrimonial.

[EN] The Virgen de la Estrella Sanctuary is located in the district of La Estrella, 16.6 km from Mosqueruela, in the province of Teruel. The origins of La Estrella date back to the 14th century, although the Sanctuary that still stands today was built in 1720 on the foundations of an earlier temple of smaller dimensions, following the Baroque model. Next to the Sanctuary are two important historical buildings, the "casa vieja" (old house) and the "casa nueva" (new house), which enclose the square where they are located, the purpose of which was to house travellers passing through La Estrella.

The Estrella neighbourhood consists of some 40 houses, and in its heyday had around 100 inhabitants, of whom until a few months ago only two lived in the Estrella, Sinforosa and Juan Martín, an octogenarian couple popularly known as the "guardians of the Estrella". They were in charge of doing the maintenance work that their state of health allowed them to do, as well as showing the Sanctuary to tourists and visitors who came to the Estrella moved by the sanctuary, its surroundings and its history. Sinforosa and Martín left La Estrella while this work was being carried out and it is now uninhabited.

For all these reasons, the main objective of this Master's thesis is to carry out an urgent conservation plan and measures for the reactivation of a cultural heritage that is in danger of deactivation. Likewise, to carry out a programme for the development of a cultural and creative HUB, combined with ecotourism activities that provide sustainability to the heritage complex through a service-learning proposal.

This aim will be achieved on the basis of a study of the surroundings of the Estrella neighbourhood, compiling all the heritage elements in cataloguing sheets to create a register of these resources located in the surrounding area, from which to draw up not only the conservation plan, but also the programme for the reactivation, development and sustainability of the heritage complex.
