PROCESO CURATIVO Y RESTAURACIÓN DE UN ACORDEÓN DIATÓNICO DE PRINCIPIOS DEL SIGLO XX

Abstract

[ES] El presente Trabajo de Final de Grado de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales recoge el proceso curativo y restauración llevado a cabo en un acordeón de tipo diatónico de principios del siglo XX, perteneciente a un coleccionista particular del municipio alicantino de Alcoi. Este tipo de acordeón, también conocido como melodeón, permanece muy ligado al folclore popular de Valencia, lo que propició que proliferarán los talleres de los artesanos dedicados a la confección de este instrumento de diversidad matérica desde finales del XIX. Se compone de tres partes, la botonera de la parte derecha con piezas de metal y nácar que producen la melodía de la canción; un pulmón en forma de fuelle, constituido de papel y recubierto de cuero y metal; y la caja de madera izquierda que reproduce los acordes y bajos. Además del estudio técnico y proceso de intervención llevado a cabo en el objeto, se realiza una contextualización y revisión de la evolución histórica de este instrumento, caído en el olvido y merecedor de nuevas oportunidades de valorización como pieza indispensable del patrimonio etnológico musical en el territorio valenciano.

[EN] The present Final Degree Project of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage includes the healing and restoration process carried out on a diatonic accordion from the early twentieth century, belonging to a private collector in the town of Alcoi, Alicante. This type of accordion, also known as melodeon, remains closely linked to the popular folklore of Valencia, which led to the proliferation of artisan workshops dedicated to the manufacture of this instrument of material diversity since the end of the 19th century. It is made up of three parts: the right-hand side with metal and mother-of-pearl pieces that produce the melody of the song; a bellows-shaped lung, made of paper and covered with leather and metal; and the left-hand wooden box that reproduces the chords and basses. In addition to the technical study and intervention process carried out on the object, a contextualization and review of the historical evolution of this instrument is carried out, fallen into oblivion and deserving of new opportunities for valorization as an indispensable piece of ethnological musical heritage in the Valencian territory.
