Vivienda Intergeneracional en Benimámet

Abstract

[ES] El envejecimiento de la población junto al creciente placer individualista del ser humano, han conducido a la fracturación de los vínculos intergeneracionales y de las estructuras de ayuda mutua tradicionales: aquellas en las que los padres cuidaban a los hijos y, después, eran los hijos quienes se encargaban de cuidar a los padres. El proyecto Vivienda Intergeneracional en Benimámet es el desarrollo de un conjunto de viviendas pensadas para la convivencia de gente mayor y joven en un antiguo pueblo de la huerta valenciana que, con los años, se ha convertido en barrio de una ciudad que le da la espalda. La intervención se realiza en una parcela al este del núcleo histórico de Benimámet, con la aspiración de continuar el crecimiento estancado del barrio. El proyecto restituye los lazos intergeneracionales perdidos a través de una arquitectura que invita al aporte mutuo, a la interacción entre distintas edades y a un cuidado bidireccional, en el marco de un diseño bioclimático eficiente y con la mirada siempre puesta en las necesidades de los habitantes no solo de las viviendas proyectadas, sino de todo el barrio.

[EN] The ageing of the population, together with the growing individualistic pleasure of human beings, has led to the fracturing of intergenerational links and of the traditional structures of mutual help: those in which the parents looked after the children and, later, it was the children who were responsible for looking after the parents. The project Intergenerational Housing in Benimámet is the development of a set of dwellings designed for the coexistence of old and young people in an old village in the Valencian huerta which, over the years, has become a neighbourhood in a city that turns its back on it. The intervention takes place on a plot to the east of the historic centre of Benimámet, a plot framed in an urban masterplan that seeks to boost the stagnant growth of the district through sustainability with the premise of the eco-neighbourhood. The project restores the lost intergenerational ties through a communal and social architecture that invites mutual contribution, interaction between different ages and two-way care, within the framework of an efficient bioclimatic design and with an eye always on the needs of the inhabitants not only of the planned dwellings but of the entire neighbourhood.
