Ottimizzazione delle opperazioni di inventory management attraverso techniche simulative presso lo store Dunki' Donuts di Piscataway (New Jersey, USA)

Abstract

In an ever-demanding global marketplace, customers are insisting on higher quality, faster delivery, dependability, and more product variety. To successfully compete, a business organization needs to be profitable and to identify the needs of its customers in order to compete simultaneously along many of the following dimensions: price, quality, flexibility, and effective and efficient service. The objective of the project is to analyze the inventory policy in order to improve the current management strategy at the Dunkin’ Donuts store in Piscataway. The inventory management analysis, based on the newsboy problem, is conducted with a practical approach by simulating all the possible situations that could be faced by the manager and find out the optimal solution for each different case. This project involves working with the manager of Piscataway Dunkin’ Donuts’ store in order to face current issues and improve the current business strategy.
