Lo real y lo festivo: reflexiones sobre algunas obras de tres creadores mexicanos desde una nueva forma de arte

Abstract

[EN] The art of the human space experience is a set of artistic practices whose main topic or creation matter is the exercising of the habitat we have built, understood this last one as the addition of architectonic and urban space. This new form of art reflects on the existing bond between the human relationships deterioration and the impoverishment of the human space experience, although it is important to point that it is not characterized by an only attribute but by a wide spectrum of features, among which we distinguish its interest in the festive, specifically in Pedro Reyes, Francis Alÿs and Máximo González’s work. Some of the main artworks by the three Mexican artists to whom we refer have in common that they analyze the way parties and the activities done in them, highlighting the games, generate a coexistence space in which certain human relationships are established temporarily. Attending a party is a way to encounter face to face with the other and to participate in traditional games is a way of collaborating to prevent them from dying out because of the quick expansion of technology and of the transformation of our lifestyle. Artworks such as Reyes’ Melodrama!y!otros!juegos, Alÿs’ Piñata or González’s Versos! sobre! papel! picado meditate on the real space from the virtual space, in an attempt to contribute to strengthen our experience of the human space

[ES] El arte de la experiencia del espacio humano es un conjunto de prácticas artísticas cuyo tema central o materia de creación es el ejercicio del hábitat que hemos edificado, entendido este último como la suma del espacio arquitectónico y el espacio urbano. Esta nueva forma de arte reflexiona sobre el vínculo existente entre el deterioro de las relaciones humanas y el empobrecimiento de la experiencia del espacio humano, sin embargo es importante señalar que no se caracteriza por un atributo único sino por una gama muy variada de rasgos, entre los cuales distinguimos su interés en lo festivo, específicamente en la obra de Pedro Reyes, Francis Alÿs y Máximo González. Algunas obras centrales de los tres artistas mexicanos a quienes nos referimos tienen en común que analizan la manera en que las fiestas y las actividades que se realizan en ellas, destacando los juegos, generan un espacio de convivencia en el que se establecen ciertas relaciones humanas temporalmente. Asistir a una fiesta es una manera de encontrarse frente a frente con el otro y participar en juegos tradicionales es una forma de colaboración para evitar que estos caigan en desuso debido a la rápida expansión de la tecnología y a la transformación de nuestro estilo de vida. Obras como Melodrama y otros juegos de Reyes, Piñata de Alÿs o Versos sobre papel picado de González meditan sobre el espacio real desde el espacio virtual, en un intento por contribuir al fortalecimiento de nuestra experiencia del espacio humano.
