Estudio histórico-técnico, estado de conservación y propuesta de intervención de una balanza del S. XIX

Abstract

[ES] En el presente Trabajo Final de Grado se desarrolla el estudio histórico-técnico, y el análisis exhaustivo del estado de conservación para llevar a cabo la propuesta de intervención de una balanza del s. XIX perteneciente a un particular. Se trata de una balanza de hierro con un precario estado de conservación, originado por la corrosión de sus materiales constituyentes, su uso e intervenciones anteriores. Para llevar a cabo este trabajo se efectúa un estudio histórico-técnico para comprender el proceso de fabricación y el desarrollo estilístico y simbólico de la balanza a lo largo de la historia, realizando un estudio bibliográfico en diversas fuentes y contextualizando históricamente la pieza. Seguidamente se realiza una investigación pormenorizada sobre el estado de conservación, apoyado por técnicas de diagnóstico que permiten conocer la naturaleza de los materiales y el origen del deterioro. Finalmente, y como objetivo principal de este proyecto se lleva a cabo la propuesta de intervención de la balanza con el fin de devolver la lectura a la pieza y garantizar el mantenimiento y la estabilidad de la obra en el futuro, siguiendo los criterios de respeto al original, reversibilidad y reconocimiento.

[EN] The present Final Degree Project aims to investigate the historical-technical background and an exhaustive analysis regarding the restoration proposal of a scale from the 19th century that belonged to a private owner. The object, in particular, is a scale constructed from iron in a precarious state of conservation, originating from the corrosion of the constituted materials, the daily use of the piece, and previous interventions. To accomplish the study, historical-technical research was conducted to understand the fabrication process and the symbolic-stylistic evolution of the scales during history, executing a bibliographic investigation using diverse sources to contextualize the item. Consecutively, a meticulous analysis was prepared regarding the state of conservation, sustaining it with different diagnostic methods that helps to perceive the nature of materials and the origin of deterioration. Lastly, the principal purpose of this project is to achieve the restoration proposal, to recede the lecture of the artwork, and guarantee the maintenance and stability of the piece in the future, following these criteria: respect for the original object, reversibility, and recognition.
