Toponímia, cultura i territori: Alfafar, un lloc entre el nom i la història.

Abstract

[ES] La toponímia d Alfafar constituïx una eina fonamental per entendre la relació històrica entre els seus habitants i el territori que han conformat al llarg del temps. Els noms dels carrers, avingudes i altres espais públics del municipi reflectixen un paisatge tradicionalment vinculat a l aigua, a l agricultura i a la vida rural. Aquests elements han sigut progressivament transformats pel creixement urbà i el pas del temps, la qual cosa ha influït directament en la morfologia del municipi.

L objectiu principal d aquest treball és analitzar com la nomenclatura dels diferents espais del municipi reflexa i contribuïx a conformar la identitat territorial d Alfafar. A través de l estudi de la seua toponímia, es pretén comprendre millor el territori on s assenta el poble, els factors naturals i humans que l han configurat, així com la manera en què la memòria col·lectiva s ha conservat o transformat amb el temps.

La toponímia contribuïx a fonamentar el coneixement del paisatge, i a fomentar les accions de desenvolupament, cura i prosperitat del mateix i de la seua comunitat.

El treball proposa, com a difusió del coneixement toponímic, la creació d un projecte d itineraris que permetran preservar la memòria i veure in situ els components del paisatge identificats a través de la rica toponímia del municipi.

[EN] The toponymy of Alfafar constitutes a fundamental tool for understanding the historical relationship between its inhabitants and the territory they have shaped over time. The names of streets, avenues, and other public spaces in the municipality reflect the landscape traditionally linked to water, agriculture, and rural life. These elements have been progressively transformed by urban growth and the passage of time, which has directly influenced the morphology of the municipality.

The main objective of this work is to analyze how the nomenclature of the different spaces in the municipality reflects and contributes to shaping the territorial identity of Alfafar. Through the study of its toponymy, it is intended to better understand the territory where the town is situated, the natural and human factors that have shaped it, as well as how collective memory has been preserved or transformed over time.

Toponymy helps to establish knowledge of the landscape and to promote actions for the development, care, and prosperity of both the landscape and its community.

As a way to disseminate knowledge of local toponymy, the work proposes the creation of a project of itineraries that will allow for the preservation of memory and the observation in situ of the landscape components identified through the municipality s rich toponymy.
