Nyxar, un mundo de fantasía distópico y único

Abstract

[ES] Este proyecto se centra en el diseño y creación de Nyxar, un mundo distópico y postapocalíptico de narrativa propia que combina géneros cómo la ciencia ficción y la fantasía oscura. En primer lugar, se ha realizado un estudio teórico, en el que se describen los aspectos necesarios para abordar la construcción del universo (worldbuilding), seguido de un estudio de referentes, analizando trabajos similares realizados por escritores y artistas relacionados con el género postapocalíptico y distópico. Este análisis tiene como objetivo la adquisición de conocimientos y pautas necesarias que permitan desarrollar un diseño y narrativa alineados con los estándares y exigencias del sector. Una vez definida la metodología, se inició la preproducción con la conceptualización del mundo de Nyxar, explorando la creación del mundo, sus eventos históricos, las facciones que lo habitan y el entorno en el que coexisten. Tras definir el trasfondo narrativo, se desarrollaron los elementos principales del mundo, como los lugares más importantes, las diversas culturas y sociedades emergentes y sus características más definitorias, siguiendo el proceso pautado: construcción del lore, diseño del entorno, creación de facciones y props únicos del mundo de Nyxar. Concretados estos aspectos, se inició la fase de producción artística, que visual y narrativamente enriquecen el mundo de Nyxar, ilustrando los paisajes postapocalípticos, la fauna y flora que los habitan, así como el concept art de un personaje representativo de cada facción, props importantes en la historia del mundo y finalmente, ilustraciones finalizadas estilo splashart con un personaje de gran relevancia en la historia como protagonista.

[EN] This project focuses on the design and creation of Nyxar, a dystopian and post-apocalyptic world with an original narrative that blends genres such as science fiction and dark fantasy. First, a theoretical study was conducted, describing the necessary aspects for the worldbuilding of the universe, followed by a study of references, analyzing similar works created by writers and artists related to the post-apocalyptic and dystopian genres. This analysis aimed to acquire essential knowledge and guidelines necessary to develop a design and narrative aligned with the standards and demands of the industry. Once the methodology was defined, the pre-production phase began with the conceptualization of Nyxar, exploring the creation of the world, its historical events, the factions inhabiting it, and the environment in which they coexist. After establishing the narrative background, the main elements of the world were developed, including key locations, the various emerging cultures and societies, and their defining characteristics, following the described process: lore construction, environment design, and the creation of unique factions and props specific to Nyxar. With these aspects solidified, the artistic production phase was initiated to visually and narratively enrich the world of Nyxar. This included illustrating post-apocalyptic landscapes, the flora and fauna that inhabit them, concept art for a representative character from each faction, important props within the world s story, and finally, fully rendered splash art illustrations featuring a character of great significance to the story as the protagonist.
