Resumen

[EN] This documentary research has been structured in four sections. In the first one, the introduction, the need for this study is pointed out due to the lack of academic texts that link slow life and new genre public art of and two hypotheses are established: that there is a set of works of new public art that incorporate slow life as a theme or medium; and that this set managed to transcend for half a century, from the 1960s to the 2010s. In the second section, the methodology, the Vivero, L. and Sánchez, B. I. (2018) proposal is considered and three practices of slow living mentioned in Parkins and Craig (2006) are chosen, the slow pace of community life, the awareness of the other and living in the present moment. Also, the texts of Lacy (1995), Bishop (2012) and Polgovsky (2023) are selected and three groups of works of new public art linked to the practices of slow life previously distinguished are extracted from them. In the third section, development, the first group formed by Slow Down, Children Growing (1989), Sanctuary (1969) and Aeromoto (2014) is described, highlighting the way in which the slow pace of community life is incorporated; the second group is detailed, made up of Touch Sanitation (1978-1979), A stitch in time (1968) and Bordamos por la paz (2011), underlining how the awareness of the other is integrated; and the third group is specified, composed of ¿Es usted feliz? (1980), Lying-Down Ceremony (1967-1968) and Deus ex machina (2018), highlighting the way in which living in the present moment is included. In the fourth section, the conclusions, it is established that the verification of the hypotheses raised, and other academics are encouraged to explore other lines of research.
