Resumen

[EN] Our goal in this project is to write a complete report that clearly shows how a PEM electrolyzer works, and develop a test system simulating an electrolyzer operation with AC current provided by a small wind turbine of 6 kW, to realize how the electrolyzer wears with this kind of current input. We start the research looking for information about the electrolysis in order to understand the base of the electrolyzer working. Then we take a look in similar projects to acquire knowledge about the whole electrolyzer system. The next step was the development of the test system and procedures, and the safety systems and rules to follow, which was clearer after the visit to the system in the ECN at Petten. Finally we put all the information together and start to write the final report with all the knowledge acquired during the research period.
