L'Ateneu del Carme

[ES] El projecte es construïx a partir de la comprensió i aprenentatge del barri històric del Carme. Reconeix les preexistències de la trama històrica i estableix un diàleg entre els símbols i tipologies tradicionals i l'arquitectura contemporània. L'aproximació es dona en tots els nivells, des de la proposta d'implantació i relació amb la trama urbana, fins a la solució arquitectònica de l'edificació residencial. La construcció es situa en una àrea actualment degradada, infrautilitzada i descontextualizada, i introdueix un ús o activitat d'interés social, concretament una residència d'estudiants, establint-se com a un node d'atenció per a l'efectiva regeneració de l'àmbit.

[EN] The project is built from the understanding and learning of the historic neighborhood of El Carmen. It identifies the pre-existences of the historical fabric and establishes a dialogue between traditional symbols and typologies and contemporary architecture. The approach takes place at all levels, from the proposal of implantation and relationship with the urban fabric, to the architectural solution of the residential building. The construction is located in an area currently degraded, underutilized and decontextualized, and introduces a use or activity of social interest, specifically a student residence, establishing itself as a node of attention for the effective regeneration of the area.
