LA REPRESENTACIÓN DE LA CIUDAD, ENTRE LA PLANTA Y EL VOLUMEN: EL PLANO DEL PRADO Y LA MAQUETA DE LA GRAN VÍA DE MADRID

Abstract

[EN] Two productions in the field of urban representation applied to the City of Madrid are introduced here. They may be understood as partial "portrayals" of two monumental areas, the Prado-Recoletos Axis and Gran Via. The conceptual unit is established on the basis of two mixed considerations: on the one side, the possibilities of action in the context of new graphic media and the ancient purposes of drawing; on the other side, the relationship between research and dissemination in the field of urban cartography in a broader sense.

[ES] Se presentan dos producciones en el ámbito de la representación urbana, aplicadas a la ciudad de Madrid. Ambas se entienden unitariamente a modo de "retratos" parciales de dos ámbitos monumentales como son el eje Prado-Recoletos y la Gran Vía. Esta unidad conceptual se establece en función de dos consideraciones entremezcladas: las posibilidades de actuación en el contexto de los nuevos medios gráficos y las añejas finalidades del dibujo, así como las relaciones entre investigación y difusión en la cartografía urbana.
