El pequeño gran formato: Pinturas e ilustraciones de "La casa de los espíritus"

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo examina los límites entre la pintura y la ilustración. Pretendemos ahondar en los rasgos que definen ambos lenguajes, el gráfico y el pictórico, y, como consecuencia, nos adentramos en la relación expresiva y creativa que la ilustración y la pintura comparten. Con este propósito se han llevado a cabo cinco ilustraciones de "La casa de los espíritus" (1982) de Isabel Allende en dos formatos distintos: serigrafías y cuadros al óleo. Para fundamentar el trabajo teóricamente, también se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica de la relación entre la imagen y el texto a lo largo del tiempo, así como del Realismo Mágico en la literatura y en la pintura. En la parte práctica, plasmamos la esencia del libro de Allende aportándole una interpretación y un estilo personales.

[EN] This work examines the limits between painting and illustration. We intend to delve into the features that define both languages, graphic and pictorial, and to deepen into the expressive and creative relationship that painting and illustration share. With this aim, we have painted five illustrations of "The House of the Spirits" (1982) by Isabel Allende in two different techniques: screen printing imprints and oil paintings. To base the work theoretically, we have carried out a bibliographic review of the relationship between image and text throughout time and of Magical Realism in literature and painting. In the practical part of the work, we capture the essence of Allende's book, giving it a personal interpretation and style.
