EL PAISAJE DE MADRID A TRAVÉS DE SU CORNISA. DE LA FACHADA A LA SECCIÓN CINÉTICA

[EN] The article aims the analysis of the urban transformations in the so-called Madrid Cornice from its naming as a capital onwards. The strong symbolism communicated through the time as iconic façade of the city has recently vanished with the last interventions in its surroundings. Nevertheless, the section of the river valley underneath has been somehow revitalised. Whether the traditional representations of the Cornice were flat and static; movement and a three-dimension dynamic reading outstand in the new understanding of the space.

[ES] El objetivo del artículo es estudiar las transformaciones de la Cornisa de Madrid desde su nombramiento como capital. El fuerte simbolismo que ha venido transmitiendo como fachada icónica de la ciudad se ha visto recientemente desdibujado con las últimas intervenciones en su entorno. Sin embargo, la sección de la vega del río, de algún modo, ha revivido. Si las representaciones tradicionales de la Cornisa eran planas y estáticas, y tenían como fin exaltar la ciudad; en su nueva comprensión prima el recorrido y una lectura tridimensional y dinámica del lugar.
