Resumen

[EN] This study aims to evaluate the development process, focus areas, short-term and long-term goals, and competencies of research and application centres that are being institutionalized under the name of ‘Learning and Teaching Centre’ or ‘Advancement of Learning and Teaching Centre’ (LTC) in higher education institutions in Turkey. To evaluate the LTCs, Prof XXI Competencies Framework (Kloos et al., 2021) has been taken as a basis. Within the scope of the research, documents such as activity reports, annual evaluation reports, bulletins, strategic plans and policy documents openly published by centres or universities on their institutional web pages have been analysed using qualitative content analysis. Interviews with centre executives are also being conducted for data triangulation, though not completed yet. The study results highlight the transforming roles of LTCs over time in the context of technological innovations and global trends such as digital pedagogy, generative artificial intelligence and inclusive education.
